The cheapest graphics card you can play it on is an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT. However, the developers recommend a CPU greater or equal to an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 to play the game. You're not losing any effects, it's just the precision/resolution of the ray tracing that is decreased. To play Metro 2033 Redux you will need a minimum CPU equivalent to an Intel Core 2 Duo T5850. If you can't notice it at the lowest setting at your current resolution, then just leave it at medium. My recommendation is to turn this setting down until the point the noise becomes easily noticeable/distracting and then move up one setting from there. Medium at native 3440x1440 is actually a higher setting than my high at 4K DLSS performance so it's not surprising you can't tell much difference if that's what you're using. ultra if I really look for it but in normal gameplay is hard to tell the difference. Update Metro Exodus first you need to download nvidia control. I'm using high at 4K DLSS performance, and that's comfortably past the threshold of "good enough" for me. Metro 2033 Redux System Requirements (Minimum) CPU: Info. If you're actually using native 3440x1440 without DLSS then medium is actually quite good. It looks like an almost "boiling" pattern of dots, if it is set too low. So medium at 4K is the same as ultra at 1080p. You'll get a noisier resolve of the RT lighting with lower settings but crucially the setting scales with native rendering resolution.
